Description[edit | edit source]
Executed by performing a quarter-forward circle motion and pressing kick, E. Honda simply tosses salt in the opponent's direction. The move is designed as a "taunt attack" that does minimal damage, similar to Dudley's rose-throwing taunt, which also gained its own move. However, if it is used to KO a opponent, the game will treat it as a Super Combo Finish, complete with the background effect.
Origin[edit | edit source]
The move was likely adapted from E. Honda's match intro animation in Street Fighter Alpha 3, and pays homage to the sumo ritual of salt tossing, often performed as a means of purification (specifically called "shubatsu"), as both the ritual and sport are rooted in the Japanese Shinto religion.
