Description[]

Senshubu

Executed by performing a quarter-circle back motion and pressing kick, Akira pivots and twists her body. Depending on which kick button is pressed, she performs a different type of kick. If Light Kick is pressed, then Akira performs a low sweep. Pressing Medium Kick has her perform a spinning heel kick. If Heavy Kick is pressed, then Akira performs a high spinning wheel kick. By pressing another kick button after the first attack has Akira performing a second kick.

The EX version performs three consecutive kicks. The first kick is the spinning heel kick, followed by the low sweep, and ending with the high wheel kick that launches the opponent in the air.

Tactics[]

Senshubu is one of Akira's most versatile moves. Each version inflicts respectable damage and stun to the opponent. Senshubu can be used in a variety of ways such as keeping the opponent guessing or performing high damaging combos. Each version of this special move functions differently. In order for Akira to utilize Senshubu efficiently, knowing which version to use and when is very important. Each version can be cancelled into her Critical Art.

The Light version has decent range hits low on the opponent. This is useful for catching his opponent off-guard or if they are trying to retreat from Akira. While it is -6 on block, it can be difficult to punish if used at the tip of the attack. Akira can safely end block strings with Light Senshubu by frame trapping her opponent with pressuring normals and finishing the sweep. This is the only version that does not result in a knockdown. On hit, Akira can cancel into a second kick for additional damage and stun. Hitting the opponent with a second low sweep leaves them fairly close to Akira. Light Senshubu is projectile invincible, making it a good answer in the mid-to-close range.

Medium Senshubu has a longer reach than the Light version. The Medium version is best for hit confirming with her Crouching Medium Kick or Standing Heavy Punch. Unlike the Light version, Medium Senshubu results in a knockdown. From there, Akira can cancel into the low sweep to get better okizeme. She is +19 if her opponent quick rises, allowing her to apply more pressure with her strong normals, fish for Crush Counter hits, or go for throws. Cancelling into a second spinning heel kick knocks the opponent further away from Akira to reset the neutral game. She can still dash forward and be +12 on their recovery, but Akira may be too far from her opponent to maintain pressure. At best, she can try to score a Crush Counter hit with her Standing Heavy Kick. She can also charge up her Kiko Kai with her first V-Skill. If Akira cancels into Heavy Senshubu for the follow-up, she can get a juggle combo in the corner by ending with EX Urarimon or Hotenshu. However, Akira is -12 on block with the Medium version.

The Heavy version has the fastest startup, compared to the other two versions. This attack hits above Akira's head, making it a decent anti-air move, and it is only -5 on block. However, the Heavy version whiffs if the opponent is crouching, leaving Akira vulnerable. In order to hit the opponent with Heavy Senshubu, it's best to start a combo with Crouching Heavy Punch to force them into stand from their crouched position. Hitting the opponent with Heavy version launches the opponent in the air, allowing Akira to follow up with either a Medium or Heavy Senshubu. The Medium follow-up knocks them back to create separation. The Heavy follow-up launches them higher, giving Akira an opportunity to inflict more damage by ending the combo with another special move like Light or EX Urarimon.

EX Senshubu has the same startup as the Medium version, but inflicts more damage and stun. The first kick of the EX version forces the crouching opponent to stand on hit. This is used to extend combos by launching her opponent in the air, giving Akira a variety of ways to follow up for additional damage.
