The Seoi Throw is one of Laura's throws introduced in Street Fighter V.

Description[]
Executed by pressing Light Punch and Light Kick, (the throw command) near an opponent. Laura grabs her opponent by the arm. Still with a grip on their arm, she pivots on her front foot, rotating herself to the side of her opponent to get them off-balance on one foot. With her opponent facing the opposite direction, Laura bends forward and uses her own leverage to throw her opponent over her hips, causing them to land on their head and flip over on their stomach.
Tactics[]
This move is extremely useful to open up the opponents who are constantly blocking. While it does significantly less damage compared to her back throw and command grabs, it has a fast recovery. This means that Laura can still counter her opponent if they jump to avoid her grabs, giving her time to attack. If her normal throw whiffs on a jumping opponent, she can use Heavy Bolt Charge to anti-air them for some good damage. By mixing Laura's normal throws with her command grabs, it puts the opponent in a difficult situation where they have to guess what she is going to do next, especially when she has positional and frame advantage.

Trivia[]
- Seoi Throw's name is an unorthodox combination of Japanese and English shared with Laura's brother Sean. The move is based on the Seoi Nage maneuver used in Judo, and is often translated into English as Shoulder Throw when used by Ryu and Ken. However, rather than using nage, the Japanese word for throw, Sean and Laura use the English word along with spelling seoi using katakana instead of kanji. This likely stems from their shared Brazilian heritage and the evolution of Matsuda Jiu-Jutsu overseas compared to Ryu and Ken's teachings from Gouken.
