Shadow Lady (シャドウレディ, Shadō Redi^?) is a video game character originating from the Marvel vs. Capcom series, first appearing in Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes as a secret fighter. This is the form Chun-Li has taken after being forcibly infused with machine technology by Shadaloo.

Appearance

Shadow Lady wears the same clothes as her original counterpart, but her clothes are now dark blue with neon golden details. Her alternate color is pink with neon green details, but if you manage to view her ending with the alternate color, the green details somehow change into gold ones.

Also, you can see flashes of her face lit up when she uses the Plasma Barrier move.

Story

Background

Chun-Li's ending in Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes hinted that M. Bison intended to alter her in the same way as Charlie Nash until Shadow stepped in to stop Bison with a flurry of Flash Kicks. Shadow Lady's ending in the game also showed a similar fate befalling fellow Capcom hero Jin Saotome after he just barely survives a losing fight with Bison, leaving him on the brink of death.

Shadow Lady's "Capcom Fighters Network" profile describes Chun-Li being captured by M. Bison and altered the same way that Nash was turned into Shadow. However, she was not enhanced with Psycho Power like Shadow was, only gaining mechanical parts that enhance her mobility and power due to his interference. Shortly after her remodeling, she ran away from Shadaloo while slowly regaining her memory, joining Shadow to fight against evil.

Trivia

• A Shadaloo-brainwashed incarnation of Chun-Li appeared in the Street Fighter II V anime series. Though unconfirmed, this brainwashed form may have served as the inspiration for Shadow Lady.
• In Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Chun-Li is given an alternate color resembling Shadow Lady, but like Akuma's Cyber-Akuma DLC alternate costume, there is no change to her moveset.
