Description[]

Ryu performs a stationary Tatsumaki that via the ki-tornado increase to have a vacuum effect, as its name indicates, and can hit the opponent multiple times.

The visuals of the attack often vary in most games; in the original games, there is a slight amount of energy below Ryu during the attack indicating the vacuuming hitbox, which is visually emphasized more in the Marvel vs. Capcom games (while having no visuals in other games).

In Tatsunoko vs. Capcom a fierce whirlwind is shown, while in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, a blue ki storm emanates from around him instead.

Tactics[]

The vacuum effect works via an invisible pull boundary that can drag a foe within said boundary closer, rendering them vulnerable in the process (thus extending the move's range).

Trivia[]

  • In Pocket Fighter, Darkstalkers fighter Morrigan's Parasite Tempest is very similar to Shinku Tatsumaki Senpukyaku.
  • In the game God Hand, the Typhoon Kick is almost identical in form to the Shinku Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, the only difference in that it is much shorter in length and does not draw in enemies, as well as hitting only one time instead of hitting multiple times very quickly.
