Description

Mai throwing Cammy using Shiranui Gourin.
- "Grab the opponent's head, then flip over before tossing them away. Throws your opponent without switching places with them."
- —Street Fighter 6
Executed by pressing Light Punch and Light Kick (or the Light Attack and Medium Attack for Modern Control) near an opponent, Mai places both of her palms on the back of the opponent's head and performs a handstand. Her forward momentum rolls her over the opponent and back on her feet, clutching the side of the opponent's head. Mai then bends her body forward to fling her opponent across the stage, causing them to land on their stomach.
Tactics
Shiranui Gourin in Street Fighter 6 is critical to Mai's arsenal. She can immediately perform a Drive Rush to reapply pressure as her opponent is recovering. Despite inflicting minimal damage, Mai can utilize throws to break the opponent's defenses; especially during okizeme. By mixing up strong normals with her throws, Mai can keep her opponent guessing and score free damage while continuously pushing them closer to the corner. This move becomes more terrifying after Mai performs an enhanced or OD Kachousen. Since the projectile can drop on top of the opponent, they are forced to respect both the fan and Mai's offensive pressure.
