"Turn into a bird! NI HEH HEH HEH HEH!"
F.A.N.G

Shishiruirui (死屍累々 lit. "Heaps of corpses all around"?) is F.A.N.G's Critical Art in Street Fighter V.

Street Fighter V +

Description

Executed by performing two quarter-circle forward motions and pressing punch, F.A.N.G leaps to the air and starts flapping his arms like a bird to hover around the screen, while dropping poisonous blasts to the ground to poison his opponent.

Tactics

Like most Critical Arts, this move is used to end combos to deal large amounts of damage to the opponent. Shishiruirui can be canceled from F.A.N.G's special moves such as Sotoja. This move is Fang's only true reversal with full invincibility during the startup frames. It also has great corner carry. In addition, Shishiruirui can also be used to get out of the corner. While it may cost all of F.A.N.G's Critical Gauge to execute, this move gives him an extra tool to escape pressure. With him dropping poisonous bombs during the move, it can be difficult for his opponent to get a clean punish without suffering any damage.

Trivia

  • Shishiruirui's performance, especially by F.A.N.G. may likely be inspired by the uncommonly aware existence of toxic birds, which much like pufferfish and the Nhuuguao's methods of poison acclimation are known to consume poisonous animals and plants in their diet which contributes to their toxicity.
