Description

Shortswingblow

Short Swing Blow in the Street Fighter IV series.

Executed by performing a half-circle backward motion and pressing kick, Dudley suddenly draws back, and just as suddenly steps forward again with an abdomen-aimed uppercut with his opposite fist.

The speed of execution, amount of net forward distance and damage inflicted are determined by the kick button pressed. The Light Kick version moves forward the least distance and does the least damage, but executes the quickest. The Heavy Kick version moves forward the most distance and does the most damage, but executes the slowest. The Medium Kick version is somewhere in between.

The EX Special version introduced in the same game travels the entire screen, combines light kick version's fast movement with heavy kick version's damage, and throws three punches instead of one: an uppercut (opposite fist), a hook (leading fist) and a straight (opposite again).

Tactics

The attack is generally useful for baiting an attack and punishing it immediately. It is usually used for max combo extension for juggles in Street Fighter X Tekken.
