Description[]
- "A quick strike that can be cancelled into special moves."
- —Street Fighter 6
Executed by pressing back and Heavy Punch, Ryu delivers a short-ranged uppercut.
Tactics[]
Short Uppercut has a 7-frame startup, making it Ryu's fastest Heavy attack. While it has very short range, it forces the opponent to stand on hit, allowing him to use normals that typically whiffs when they're crouching. It can also be used as an anti-air attack to stop shallow jump-in attempts or cross-ups. This move can be cancelled into Ryu's special moves, such as Hadoken, Shoryuken, or any of his Super Arts.
Trivia[]
- The animation of this move is similar to his Crouching Heavy Punch in previous versions of Street Fighter.
