Description
Executed by performing a quarter-circle forward motion and pressing kick, A.K.I. slides across the floor on her front. The Light version simply has her coil on the spot. The Medium version has her slide 1/4 of the screen while Heavy Snake Step travels almost halfscreen, potentially switching sides with the opponent if close enough. The Overdrive version has the longest overall distance.
Tactics
This move functions similarly to F.A.N.G's Nikankyaku. This command dash allows A.K.I. to duck underneath high attacks or projectiles, while closing the distance to punish the opponent as they are recovering. This means A.K.I. doesn't have to sacrifice some of her Drive Gauge to block a fireball. The Light version is mainly used for evasive or defensive purposes since it leaves A.K.I. in the same position. Medium and Heavy Snake Step can be used to approach the opponent and surprise them. Only the Heavy version can result in a side-switch, which is a good way to escape corner pressure. The OD version acts similarly to Heavy Snake Step. However, A.K.I. is both strike and projectile invincible during OD Snake Step.
Trivia
- Qinggong (軽功 Japanese: Keikō; Chinese: Qīnggōng?) is form of Chinese martial arts, though it has been greatly over-exaggerated in fiction - especially movies, where martial artists have the ability to move swiftly and lightly at superhuman speed, scaling high walls, appearing as though they can fly etc.
