DescriptionEdit

SouHakkei

Executed by pressing forward and all three punches after blocking an attack, Chun-Li performs a push in the opponent who pushes the bottom of the screen. In Alpha 3, this move is only available to Chun-Li in X-ISM.

Tactics Edit

Like most V-Reversals, the purpose is to stop opponent's pressure or to get out of tough situations. While her V-Reversal doesn't result in a knockdown, Chun-Li creates enough distance to position herself in the mid-range from her opponent.

As this attack has a rather slow startup, it is recommended for the Chun-Li player to watch the attack of the opponent before activating this, as if the attack has a fast recovery and the opponent has fast Walk Speed they can throw Chun-Li before the attack activates.

Etymology Edit

The original name of this term is known as "fajin" (発勁) in pinyin, a term used in Chinese martial arts that involves use of internal energies and explosive force. "Hakkei" is the term's on'yomi reading.

In this attack's case, the pinyin name of this technique would be "Shuang Fajin", with "Shuang" being written with 雙 instead of 双 in Traditional Chinese.
