Description

Elena using Spin Scythe against in Street Fighter III.

Elena using Spin Scythe against Sean in Street Fighter III.

"A series of spinning kicks, the second of which can transition into another technique on hit. Closing combos with this allows you to continue your offense or aim for follow-up attacks."
Street Fighter 6

Executed by performing a quarter-circle backward motion and pressing kick (or performing a quarter-circle backward motion and pressing any Attack button for Modern Control), Elena performs two shoulder-aimed spinning kicks, sliding forward during each kick. After these two kicks, the player can optionally enter the command again and she'll perform a third spin kick, this time using both feet for a total of four hits.

The startup time, speed and distance slid in-between each kick are all determined by the kick button pressed at the initial input, with heavier kick versions meaning greater distance and speed but also greater startup and recovery time.

The EX Special version introduced in the Street Fighter III games has Elena perform three consecutive Spin Scythes in rapid succession and kick the enemy high up into the air, after which they can be juggled. Optionally, if the input is repeated during the third attack, the two-legged Spin Scythe will be performed as a fourth kick, scoring up to five hits.

In Street Fighter 6, Elena can perform Lynx Whirl as a follow-up to Spinning Scythe; which has Elena performing an evasive roll towards the opponent.

Tactics

The last attack can be performed instantly after the second hit, in which case it'll successfully link as a combo. The last attack can also be delayed - there's a long recovery time after the second attack, during which the player can perform the third attack at any time. This is a good timing trick to use if the first two attacks are guarded; when the opponent thinks he/she sees an opening and lashes out to attack, the player can execute the final Spin Scythe.
