Street Fighter ZERO3 Drama Album (ストリートファイターZERO3 ドラマアルバム) is a Drama CD released in January 21st 1999. M. Bison, who wants to secure Ryu, orders Vega to kidnap Sakura. Ryu heads for Shadaloo alone to bring Sakura back.

Story

Sakura, Kidnapped!?

It starts with M. Bison watching past footage of Ryu fighting Sagat. M. Bison tells Vega that he’s seen enough and tells Vega to bring Ryu to him.  

The scene then cuts to a crowd watching Ryu fight someone in a street fight, with Sakura cheering after Ryu won, her friend Kei wants to go home and wonders how long Sakura plans on watching him fight. R. Mika emerges from the crowd and challenges Ryu to a fight, she hopes that beating Ryu will lead her to getting a promotion. Ryu shows no interest in fighting R. Mika, but once she begins to attack Ryu fights back and Sakura cheers him on. Ryu quickly defeats R. Mika using Shinku Tatsumaki Senpukyaku. After the fight R. Mika's shocked over her loss, Ryu asks if she’s satisfied but R. Mika wants a rematch, Ryu tells her that he’s had enough and leaves while saying goodbye. Sakura tries to get to Ryu but the people in the crowd obstructed her.

Sakura then bumps into R. Mika and they introduce themselves she tells R. Mika that she’ll be a famous street fighter one day before leaving to find Kei. She then decides to go home but finds that Kei is nowhere to be found, while Sakura’s looking for Kei, Vega who was also in the crowd hears Sakura and decides to use her to bring Ryu to M. Bison.

While going home, Sakura could hear someone’s footsteps following her and asks who’s there but there was no response. Sakura continuous to walk but can still hear an unfamiliar man follow her, she then attacks the man with a kick but the man avoids it. The man reveals himself as Vega, and tells Sakura that he has no intention of hurting her, when he mentions Ryu, Sakura asks Vega if he knows him and Vega responds by saying he knows Ryu very well. Vega continues to use Ryu to lower Sakura’s guard, telling her that Ryu wanted to pass a message onto Sakura. Vega informs her that Ryu’s training somewhere but wishes to see her as she has potential as a street fighter, he tells her to get in the car so he can take her there. At first, Sakura refused but gave in after Vega asks if she wants to see him. Once she got in the car Vega laughed and called her a foolish little girl and that she’ll be used as bait to lure Ryu out of hiding.

Once the car drove away, Karin asks Shibasaki who that man was. Shibasaki assumed Vega was an acquaintance of Ryu, and Karin thought Sakura was going to receive special training from Ryu so she can challenge her in the future. She laughs claiming that she’d still come out the victor regardless.

Ryu answers a phone call from Vega who announced that he’s holding Sakura captive and if he wants to ensure her safety he needs to show up at a designated location. Ryu is confused but hears Sakura telling Ryu not to listen him, Vega tells her to be silent and hits her. Vega tells Ryu that M. Bison will be waiting for his arrival.

Vega drags his claws against the walls and warns the enraged Sakura that if she decides to make unnecessary actions like before he’ll leave scars on her face. He takes off his mask and reveals his plans to Sakura, and that she should feel honored in helping M. Bison achieve his goal.

Balrog (Vega) VS. Ryu

The scene begins with Ryu running to Haneda Airport while having flashbacks to the phone call with Vega, he then says to himself that he’ll save Sakura no matter what. Suddenly R. Mika appears and asks Ryu for a rematch, Ryu tells her he doesn’t have time to fight her and that even if she wins there’ll be no spectators to see it. During a small exchange of attacks, Ryu tells her that there’s a girl he needs to save and R. Mika remembers Sakura who she briefly spoke to not long ago. R. Mika asks Ryu if he’s going alone, but Ryu pleads her to stand aside and promises her that he’ll fight her someday, as right now his opponents are those who use their fighting ability for their own ambitions. He then runs past her ignoring her when she shouts his name.  

Ryu arrives at Haneda Airport and begins yelling Sakura’s name asking for her whereabouts. Vega shows up and welcome’s Ryu, speaking to him as if they were comrades. Ryu ignores him and asks where he’s keeping Sakura, Vega then tells the Shadaloo grunts to surround Ryu. A fight ensues and Ryu feels as if no matter how many he takes down, more will appear, Vega laughs as he watched Ryu fight his way through the grunts. Ryu then fires two Hadoken’s to blow them all away.  Vega then engages Ryu in combat, he reveals that he wears a mask to prevent blood from a loser to pollute his face. Ryu ignores his comments and instead complements Vega’s striking speed, however he already found Vega’s weakness. Vega goes in for the kill but then Ryu counterattacks and defeats Vega while breaking his mask in the process.  

Vega stands up and goes into a frenzy over his face being damaged. Ryu then explains how and why he won the fight. Before passing out, Vega tells Ryu that Sakura is no longer with him and has been sent to M. Bison. Ryu realizes that Vega planned to escape by a private plane and decides to get on a plane himself to find Sakura. Ryu gets on the plane and tells the Shadaloo member to take him to M. Bison.

Sakura’s then thrown into a cell and she asks the guard where she is, the guard ignores her and walks away. Sakura then complains out loud how she’s a high school girl who’s already been thrown in prison, this led to another prisoner telling her to keep it down. He then asks Sakura if she’s Japanese and jokes about how Japanese girls have changed for them to be driven to a place like this. He asks her what she’s in prison for and Sakura says that she was kidnapped, he then responds by saying that there’s a lot of bad men in the world, Sakura then told him that she fell for the trap because she wanted to meet the person she longed for.

She then asked the man what he’s in for, he laughs then says that he got into a street fight who just so happened to be a member of Shadaloo. Sakura gets excited over the man being a street fighter and begins to boast how she’s a street fighter too, the man laughs once more and asks for her name, he then introduces himself as Cody.

M. Bison find out Ryu is coming to get Sakura and laughs, despite Vega being defeated everything is going according to plan.

To Vega's (M. Bison's) Castle!

Ryu asks the pilot how long it’ll take to get to M. Bison; the pilot tells Ryu that it’s about time to lower the altitude. Ryu hears something and asks the pilot if he heard it to and then he opened the door telling the anonymous person to come out. It turns out it was R. Mika who’s been following Ryu, she tells Ryu that she’s no different to the people Ryu’s about to fight, fighters who use their abilities for their own ambitions, R. Mika is currently fighting for a promotion and to become a star in the ring. She’s not sure if it’s different, but her fighting is driven by investment that springs from the bottom of her heart. Although she only met Sakura once, she wants to help her. She remembers Sakura’s ambition in becoming a famous street fighter, and unlike R. Mika she was really trying to be stronger. The scene ends with R. Mika suffering from motion sickness.

Ryu and R. Mika come off the plane with M. Bison’s castle being far out in the distance. R. Mika hears something in the bushes which is revealed to be Blanka who then attacks them. R. Mika defeats Blanka with her rainbow kick. M. Bison was notified of Blanka’s defeat, and then sends Balrog to go after Ryu.

Karin and Shibasaki are heading to M. Bison’s castle via car then Karin sees Ryu and R. Mika going in the same direction by foot and approaches them. Ryu ask who she is and Karin introduces herself as Sakura’s rival, and offers the two a lift much to R. Mika’s dismay as she has to suffer through motion sickness again.  

While still stuck in the prison cell, Sakura worries about Ryu but then hears a voice in her head. It was M. Bison using his Psycho Power to speak to her, he tells Sakura that Ryu’s come to rescue her and soon he’ll be able to capture Ryu thanks to her. She tells M. Bison to stop but he laughs at her despair.  Sakura begins to blame herself and comes close to crying, hearing Sakura’s voice Cody gets up and offers to break her out of prison.

As soon as Ryu, R. Mika and Karin enter the castle M. Bison’s guards show up to overwhelm them with numbers. R. Mika tells Ryu and Karin to keep going as she stays behind to fight the Shadaloo guards. Impressed by R. Mika’s fighting ability, Karin offers to sponsor her if she can hold off all the guards, R. Mika’s delighted over the idea of being sponsored by the Kanzuki Zaibatsu then Ryu tells R. Mika not to overdo it before heading deeper into the castle.

Ryu and Karin run through the castle while calling out to Sakura, then suddenly Ryu receives a punch to the face that sends him back. The one to deliver the blow was Balrog.

Final: The Menace of the Psycho Drive

Balrog lands multiple blows on Ryu and sends him flying. Ryu complements Balrog’s fists and the power behind them. Karin tries to fight Balrog and opens up with a Guren Ken, Balrog laughs and tells her that it didn’t hurt then he strikes her with a punch. Ryu was enraged from seeing Karin hurt and charges at Balrog, he monologues on Balrog’s hard punches and outstanding reflexes. He wonders how he’ll counter his boxing techniques. However, Karin goes back in and was able to dodge Balrog’s moves, thanks to that Ryu also got the rhythm of Balrog’s punching pattern and defeats him with a combo. Karin remarks that 10 count won’t be necessary then she senses someone’s presence.

It was M. Bison, who called Balrog pathetic for losing. This was Karin’s first-time seeing M. Bison so she was taken aback by his intimidating presence. Ryu and Karin ask where Sakura is but M. Bison ignores them and talks about using his power to bring out the power within Ryu. Ryu challenges M. Bison and lands a hit on him, M. Bison is impressed that Ryu has to guts to strike him then he attacks Ryu with his psycho power. Karin tells M. Bison to return her rival then uses Kou’ou Ken, but M. Bison warps out of the way and taunts Karin saying that he’s “over here”.

Ryu tells Karin to go on ahead while he fights M. Bison, she tries to interject but Ryu swears that he’ll beat M. Bison. Karin understood and asks Ryu if he promises that he’ll win, Ryu tells her he will, before leaving Karin tells Ryu that she hates guys who don’t keep their promises.

While Ryu and M. Bison fight each other, Cody breaks Sakura out her prison cell which sets off an alarm. The Shadaloo guards show up to capture them, one tries to grab Sakura then she knocks him out. Cody whistles and says she’s not half bad before knocking out the other guard. Karin arrives after and Cody asks if she’s a friend of Sakura. Sakura asks Karin where Ryu is and she tells her that he’s currently fighting M. Bison.

The scene then cuts back to M. Bison and Ryu fighting. Both fighters have different ideologies on what power should be used for. M. Bison intends to use his power to instill fear into others and to take over the world. Sakura, Karin and Cody are running through castle but Karin forgot where to go which annoys Cody. The trio accidently come across the room where the Psycho Drive is located.  

Ryu uses Shinku Hadoken to defeat M. Bison. Before he could leave M. Bison laughs and tells Ryu that it’s too early to rejoice as the last psycho drive is located underneath the castle. M. Bison activates the Psycho Drive and disappears, causing Ryu to go looking for him but was stopped by Sakura who told Ryu to run away. Ryu tells Sakura he needs to find the Psycho Drive and destroy it. Karin laughs and tells Ryu not to worry as the Psycho Drive will explode, the 4 of them leave the castle leaving M. Bison stunned by what happened to his Psycho Drive which self-destructs in front of him.

While Cody wonders if M. Bison is gone along with the Psycho Drive, Sakura asks Karin where Ryu is which annoys Karin as Sakura didn’t say thank you for being saved. R. Mika rushes to them and is happy to see that they’re safe, meanwhile Sakura sees Ryu in the distance and calls out to him.

The Drama CD ends with Sakura wanting to fight evenly with Ryu someday, and she’ll keep chasing him until she can be as strong as he is.
