Zangief performing the Super Stomping
Zangief stomps the opponent's foot four times, before kicking them away with his other leg. If quarter-circle back and kick is inputted. Zangief will do the Chuudan ("Middle Level") and cancel the attack by stopping in place before the last kick.
Tactics[]
Super Stomping can be canceled with an additional input. By doing so, Zangief will not do the final kick, allowing him to continue attacking his foe. He can even cancel the move, do a standing attack, and then do the move again.
If the Super Stomping is blocked, he can super cancel it into the Final Atomic Buster, and the opponent won't be able to escape.

- The Super Stomping would later return in Ultra Street Fighter 4's Omega Mode as an EX move for Zangief, renamed as Russian Stomping.
