The 400m relay in the Taiyo-Pacific athletic competition.
Taiyo-Pacific athletic competition (太陽学園とパシフィックHSの対抗戦? "Taiyo High and Pacific HS Rival Match"), also known in Japan by the abbreviation "Tai-P Match" (太P戦?) and by the nickname "8 Burning Days" (炎の8日間?), is an annual event from the Rival Schools series. It is a large scale cultural and sports festival held jointly by Taiyo High School and Pacific High School that lasts eight days, starting and ending on a Saturday. Since most of Pacific High's students go to church on Sundays, Taiyo High also holds a Taiyo Festival (太陽祭?) on that day. Besides sports contests, liberal arts events are also held during the event, so students can unite and compete beyond the boundaries of their clubs. The event has a long story, with Taiyo having most total victories, but in the last ten years Pacific won 6 times while Taiyo won 4. The only downside of the event is that when Taiyo's results are good, some students get too excited and their academic performance drop.[1]
In the Nekketsu Seisyun Nikki mode from Rival Schools: United by Fate and Nekketsu Seisyun Nikki 2, the Taiyo-Pacific athletic competition starts on June 12 and the player participates in a minigame.
In Project Justice, the story from both Taiyo High and Pacific High start with Kurow causing chaos during the Taiyo-Pacific athletic competition and placing the blame on Pacific High, resulting in the event being interrupted.
