Description

Seth using Tanden Typhoon in Street Fighter IV.
Executed by performing two quarter-circle backward motions and pressing all three punch buttons, Seth bends backwards with his face towards the opponent and releases a gigantic tornado out of the Tanden Engine aimed diagonally upwards that draws the foe into it as Seth laughs maniacally. If the move successfully connects with the opponent, the tornado knocks them multiple times into the air before launching them far away from Seth, hitting up to 14 times.
In OMEGA Mode, the move notably connects with the opponent more consistently, allowing more hits to be dealt (though usually no more than the intended 14 hits when hitting the opponent with the move by itself) while Seth also recovers more quickly.
Tactics
The Tanden Typhoon is a solid anti-air move, which can also be used to continually hit opponents that are juggled into the air such as a Shoryuken + FADC, its EX Special version or against a cornered opponent, after a Hyakuretsukyaku. In such cases, Tanden Typhoon will usually hit as low as 6 times (with the EX Shoryuken).
It can also punish projectile users though not to the same extent that Tanden Stream is capable of. However, the move can occasionally whiff if a grounded opponent is at a certain distance from Seth by hitting them once or twice before getting knocked down to the ground.
Trivia
- If one is to move the camera, it is seen that the vortex doesn't physically hit his opponent, rather to the side of them.
- Sometimes, it is possible for the move to deal more than 14 hits if the opponent jumps in response or if it counters the opponent.
