Target Combo 9 is one of Ibuki's Target Combos in Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter X Tekken.
Description[]
Started by her light kick, Ibuki then follows up with a sequence that visually matches her Medium Kick and then far Hard Kick.
In Street Fighter X Tekken forward must be held after the light kick or else Cross Rush will be activated instead.
Tactics[]
in the IV series this attack isn't really useful. It can be used by beginners as it leaves Ibuki at +1 on hit, which is further favorable as Ibuki's light jabs are 3 frame startup. The biggest issue is that this target combo isn't special cancel-able, meaning Ibuki can not followup on this. Furthermore it is rather negative on block, making the risk and reward not worth it. Furthermore Ibuki's LK has very little range, at the ranges LK would hit is is generally more useful to do her Target Combo 4, an attack that comes off a 3 frame attack rather than 4.
In Street Fighter X Tekken this attack is a little more useful. Visually speaking the Cross Rush medium kick and this Target Combo medium kick are very similar. The the LK to MK sequence can be used as a rather weak Pandora starter, as it has unusually high juggle time.
Furthermore in Street Fighter X Tekken this attack is Jump Cancelable. While Ibuki can jump cancel away or cancel into specials, it is still rather outclassed by Target Combo 6 and Target Combo 8, as these two target combos can be started by a 3 frame normal, do more damage, and leave the opponent at a good height to use Target Combo 3 to juggle them.
