Description[]

TenhaNoKata

Executed by pressing Heavy Punch and Heavy Kick simultaneously, Karin channels her inner ki into her hands to power up the Kanzuki fighting style. While this V-Trigger is active, she gains access to her counter move, Yasha Gaeshi Tenchi.

Tactics[]

The type of counter Karin performs depends on what type of attack she parries.

If Karin counters a low attack, she performs the Yasha Gaeshi Chi. This puts the opponent in a crumpling state, similar to when she hits them with EX Orochi. With her opponent completely defenseless, Karin can link into Heavy Mujinkyaku or cancel into EX Tenko to extend the combo. If Karin is countering a medium or high attack, she performs the Yasha Gaeshi Ten. This launches the opponent, allowing Karin to follow up with a special attack or Critical Art.

Both moves can be cancelled into from the recovery of her special moves and V-Skill. This is very helpful because it allows Karin to turn any situation where she's normally at a disadvantage on block and shift it into her favor. For example, blocking Karin's Ressenha is at least -6 on block. Typically, Karin can be punished if her opponent successfully block this attack. However, by immediately performing her parry to counter her opponent's punish, Karin can launch her opponent and inflict a large amount of damage to them.

This gives her an extra level of mix-up. While her V-Trigger is active, she can keep her opponent on their heels on negative situations, preventing them from attacking since Karin may counter it. Of course, if she does not successfully parry the attack or mistimes the move, she becomes vulnerable to a Counter Hit state.
