Description[]
Capcom vs. SNK 2[]
Executed by pressing down twice and three punch or kick buttons, the Tenma Shurettou is a special counter that counters high with three punches input, or low with three kicks input. Upon performing the move, Shin Akuma takes up a parrying stance for a few seconds. Should the counter meet an attack, Shin Akuma will teleport to the top of the screen and crash down on the opponents with an outside knifehand strike, or "karate chop", similarly to the Zugaihasatsu, however it leaves Shin Akuma wide open to ranged attacks during the move's duration. It is a weaker counter variation of the Misogi, being that the two moves share similar animations. However, this move can be beaten out if the player guesses the high or low input correctly with a jab or a throw, and can knock him out of the counter.
Street Fighter IV series[]
While the move does not appear itself, Akuma has a basic variation of it known simply as the Shuretto (朱裂刀 Shurettou?, "Vermilion Rending Blade"), which acts as his back throw. Gouken also uses a fairly similar move as a part of his Hyakki Gosai throw.
Street Fighter X Tekken[]
Akuma's Cross Art is the Tenma Shurettou. Also, the move targets the spine of the opponent in a slicing motion. As is tradition for every Cross Art in the game, Akuma sends his enemy to his ally for his ally to use their Super Art on them.
