Description[]

SSFIVAE 3 19 2020 5 38 29 PM

Fei Long faking out his opponent with Tenshin in Street Fighter IV.

Executed by performing a half-circle backward motion and pressing kick, Fei Long attempts to hook his own leg with the opponent's; if successful, the hook allows him to flip over the opponent to the other side while shouting "Over here!". Right after landing on the other side, Fei Long has a very strict window of time to unleash any attack or combo before the opponent can retaliate. Since it is a command grab, the move cannot be blocked.

The EX Special version is faster, allows Fei Long to grab his opponent at a slightly further distance than the normal version, and makes the very first move performed right after the side switch virtually unblockable.

Yun, Yang, and Akuma (as a follow-up to Hyakkishu) use a similar technique, referred to as Zenpou Tenshin.

Jamie also has this move in Street Fighter 6, which is also executed by performing a half-circle backward motion and pressing kick, while having at least 3 Drink stocks. Jamie strikes a finger poke between the opponent's eyes and staggering them for a combo. The OD version causes Jamie to slap his opponent after staggering them, dealing a small amount of damage and causing the opponent to crumple to the ground. This allows Jamie to follow up with many more options, as the opponent will not be able to move for much longer than the normal version.

Tactics[]

"A throw that stops the opponent's movements by thrusting a finger in front of their eyes. After the hit connects, it can be followed up with a swift attack."
Street Fighter 6

The technique does no damage at all, and it mostly allows Fei Long to trick or confuse his opponent and set up different kinds of combos.

For Jamie in Street Fighter 6, he stays on the same side, which can be useful for maintaining the corner. While he needs three Drink stocks to obtain this move, he gains access to a command grab to increase the potency of his offence. It has an 8-frame startup, making it difficult to react to. Jamie is +8 upon hitting the opponent with this move, allowing him to follow up with another normal to continue the combo and inflict more damage. During the OD version, Jamie has massive frame advantage on hit. Additionally, the opponent is put in a crumpling state on hit, allowing more damaging follow-up combos.
