Description[]
Executed by pressing down twice and pressing punch (or pressing down twice and pressing any attack button for Modern Control), Jamie grabs his gourd from his hip and takes a drink from it, adding to his Drink stock up to 4 times. Holding the button increases the drink stock gradually.
Drink stocks unlock the following moves:
- 1 stock:
- Bitter Strikes
- Freeflow Strikes (additional attacks)
- Luminous Dive Kick
- 2 stocks:
- 3 stocks:
- Hermit's Elbow (effects altered)
- Intoxicated Assault
- Tenshin
- 4 stocks:
- Senei Kick (effects altered)
- Ransui Haze
- Swagger Hermit Punch
Jamie also has a Super Art version called The Devil's Song, which puts him at 4 stocks for a certain amount of time, regardless of how many stocks he already has.
Tactics[]
Drinking is crucial for Jamie, as not only does he gain new moves as his Drink stocks increase, but he also gains an extra 5% damage scaling for every stock, starting at 90% and ending at 110%. Drinking leaves Jamie open for a considerable amount of time, and only gains the level at the very end of the animation, making it risky for him to take stray hits. Using The Devil Inside whenever the opponent is far enough from him is recommended, often after certain combo enders like Arrow Kick or Swagger Step. Jamie's ability to drink in neutral varies based on the matchup, with slower characters such as E. Honda and Zangief lacking fast enough options to reach Jamie in time, while Guile and Dhalsim can often intercept drinks on reaction.
