Executed by performing a quarter-circle motion backwards and pressing punch, Viper suddenly moves forward, leading with her electric-gloved fist. The direction in which she moves is determined by the strength of the punch button used: a medium punch sends her dashing straight forward while a light punch causes her to dash while crouching for a low attack, and a heavy punch sends her leaping diagonally forward, turning the move into an uppercut. This makes the attack capable of controlling horizontal space as well as vertical space.

The Thunder Knuckle (サンダーナックル Sandaa Nakkuru?) is one of C. Viper's special attacks, introduced in Street Fighter IV.

Input: Quarter-Circle Back + Punch

Description

Executed by performing a quarter-circle motion backwards and pressing punch, Viper suddenly moves forward, leading with her electric-gloved fist. The direction in which she moves is determined by the strength of the punch button used: a Medium punch sends her dashing straight forward while a Light punch causes her to dash while crouching for a low attack, and a Heavy punch sends her leaping diagonally forward, turning the move into an uppercut, as Laura's Bolt Charge. This makes the attack capable of controlling horizontal space as well as vertical space.

The EX Special version of the attack is like the medium punch version, except that it covers the entire length of the screen and crumples the opponent. Viper does not stop at her opponent, even when blocked; she will continue on past her opponent, making the move useful for escaping a cornered position. The EX version hits twice and let the opponent fallen on the floor.

Tactics

The Thunder Knuckle not only breaks armor but also inflicts a lot of stun. The Light and Medium versions can be comboed after crouching Medium Punch and Kick and both can be useful for punishing opponents who are charging up a Focus Attack. The light version can be used to punish opponents next attack C. Viper, for this version attacks below.

Heavy Thunder Knuckle is an anti-air attack, and in most cases you can combo into another as the opponent falls.

Thunder Knuckles can also be feinted by pressing the two opposite buttons before the move comes out completely. For instance, to feint a Light Thunder Knuckle, you can try Crouching Medium Kick cancel into Light Thunder Knuckle and then press Medium and Heavy Punch as quick as possible. Light and Medium Feints have limited use but, the Heavy Thunder Knuckle Feint opens up a whole new world of combo possibilities for C. Viper
