Lily's Thunderbird

"Remaining in place, leap directly upwards while unleashing a series of spinning attacks. It executes quickly, making it useful as an anti-air attack or as a way to turn the tables while doing lots of damage."
Street Fighter 6

"Thunderbird performed while airborne. It is primarily useful as a way to finish air combos."
Street Fighter 6

The Thunderbird (サンダーバード Sandābādo?) is one of T. Hawk's Special Attacks introduced in Ultra Street Fighter IV's OMEGA Mode. It returns as one of Lily's Super Arts in Street Fighter 6.

Description[]

Ultra Street Fighter IV (OMEGA Mode)[]

Executed by performing a full-circle motion and pressing two punches, T. Hawk chokes his opponent, strikes with a Tomahawk Buster, then finishes with a mid-air Mexican Typhoon. This move costs two blocks of Super Combo Gauge.

Street Fighter 6[]

Executed by performing two quarter-circle forward motions and pressing punch, Lily crouches down and does a multi-hitting, vertical Condor Spire to the opponent. When used in the air, it becomes Soaring Thunderbird (スカイサンダーバード Sukai Sandābādo?, "Sky Thunderbird"), though the properties are the same.

Tactics[]

Thunderbird

Lily knocking Cammy in the air using Thunderbird.

Because it is a Level 2 Super Art, Thunderbird can be cancelled from most of Lily's normals or OD moves like Condor Spire or Condor Wind. This move is an excellent reversal option as well as anti-air. Unlike her Level 1 Super Art, this move gives Lily full invincibility, allowing her to punish fireballs or jump-ins. Thunderbird gives Lily another strong anti-air tool to punish against neutral jumps or cross-up attempts. This move can also be amplified when Lily has one Windclad in stock. Doing so increases the number of hits to a maximum 13 hits. Not only this move inflicts more damage, but it also has a slightly longer range.
