The Tsuitotsuken (追突拳, Tsuitotsuken, Chasing Thrust Fist) was originally Chun-Li's unnamed far standing medium punch attack introduced in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, and is also one of her unique attacks in Street Fighter V. It is renamed Swift Thrust in Street Fighter 6.

Description

Tsuitotsuken

Executed by pressing forward (or back) and Medium Punch, Chun-Li performs a hand chop thrust attack towards her opponent. In older games, she often performed it straightforward, where as in Street Fighter V, she aims a bit upward at face-level.

Tactics

This move was one of Chun-Li's best mid-range normals. It has a fast startup and can keep other opponents at a distance. An effective tool in the neutral game or to pressure opponents. The Tsuitotsuken is also safe on block, especially when this move connects at the very end. An effective way to use this move via its command normal/unique attack version is right after she hits her opponent with forward throw, putting them in range for this attack. Chun-Li can also cancel this unique attack into V-Trigger.

SwiftThurst
"A strike with long reach that can be canceled into special moves."
Street Fighter 6

In Street Fighter 6, this move has a 7-frame startup and similar range to her Crouching Medium Kick. It is one of Chun-Li's best pokes. This move can be safe if spaced correctly. Additionally, she can perform this move while retaining a back charge. Because of the move's low recover frames, Chun-Li can react to Drive Impact. She can also cancel Swift Thrust into her special moves like Kikoken, Hundred Lightning Kicks, or even her Super Art.
