A Unique Tag Introduction is an aesthetic feature in Street Fighter × Tekken.
Description
In Street Fighter × Tekken most characters are given official partners. Normally when characters are selected, they have their own introductions with small variations; depending if they are either the front or anchor character. For example, if Ibuki is selected as the front character, she comes down from a puff a smoke and then proceeds to playfully show off her kunai skills after her partner finishes their starting animation. If she is selected as the anchor character with a partner that is not Rolento, she is seen with her back turned before the smoke animation plays.
When she and her official partner is selected they are seen together, interacting with each other depending on their dynamic (as seen in the video below).

Ibuki Rolento Unique Tag Intro
A video example of a unique tag introduction in action.
Official partners do not get any unique benefits or negatives in game. The game plays with no unique combination attacks or combination. Banter does switch with official partners compared to generic teammates. An example is, while Ibuki says the name occasionally of her partner while tagging in, including Rolento, instead of saying "Tag Out", she will say to Rolento "Get off your butt and fight". Also when being the one tagged in through a Cross Art, instead of saying "I'm on it" to a generic partner, she says "Let's do this together" to Rolento. Aside from speech, there is no other difference.
The Arcade Mode of the game is also affected as well. With two official partners, they get a unique story. When two non-partnered characters are chosen together, a generic story plays out at the start. Akuma and Ancient Ogre do not have official partners but do have unique endings when they are chosen in Arcade Mode.
