With so much music in the Super Nintendo version of "The World Warrior" comes so many sound effects. In this game, some of the sound effects in the Options Mode menu work kind of weird. To start off, here are some of the first sound effects that are consistent:

  • 01 - Light attack swing
  • 02 - Medium attack swing
  • 03 - Heavy punch swing
  • 04 - Heavy kick swing
  • 05 - Light punch landed
  • 06 - Medium punch landed
  • 07 - Heavy punch landed
  • 08 - Light kick landed
  • 09 - Medium kick landed
  • 0A - Heavy kick landed
  • 0B - Land on back
  • 0C - Male K.O. scream 1
  • 0D - Chun-Li K.O. scream
  • 0E - Blocked attack
  • 0F - Land on feet
  • 10 - Male K.O. scream 2
  • 11 - Male grunt 1
  • 12 - Male grunt 2
  • 13 - Male grunt 3
  • 14 - Victory laugh
  • 15 - Final option on Main Menu
  • 16 - Toggle between options on Main Menu and Player Select menu
  • 17 - Player selected
  • 18 - Unit added to score
  • 19 - Continue countdown
  • 1A - Pause
  • 1B - Plane on world map
  • 1C - Hit by flammable attack
  • 1D - "Round"
  • 1E - "Fight!"

After 1E, the rest of the sound effects until 2E get kind of weird, but I figured out how they work - While 1F-23 don't play any sound at first, they will if you repeatedly press 'R' on 25-2D. Here's the different sounds you hear after repeatedly pressing 'R' on 25-2D.

After repeatedly pressing 'R' on 25:

  • 1F - Destroyed oil drums 1
  • 20 - Destroyed oil drums 2
  • 21 - Destroyed oil drums 3
  • 22 - Completely destroyed car 1

After repeatedly pressing 'R' on 26:

  • 1F - Destroyed sign, crate, or statue 1
  • 20 - Destroyed sign, crate, or statue 2
  • 21 - Destroyed sign, crate, or statue 3
  • 22 - Completely destroyed car 2

After repeatedly pressing 'R' on 27:

  • 1F - Destroyed bricks or car 1
  • 20 - Destroyed bricks or car 2
  • 21 - Destroyed bricks or car 3
  • 22 - Completely destroyed car 3

After repeatedly pressing 'R' on 28, sounds 1F-21 sound really weird. They sound like disoriented versions of destroyed objects, probably sounds while this version of the game was in production, which are not even heard outside of Option Mode. At least sound 22 sounds pretty normal.

  • 22 - "Doo!"

Sound 23 changes after repeatedly pressing 'R' on 29-2D.

  • 29 - "1"
  • 2A - "2"
  • 2B - "3"
  • 2C - "4"
  • 2D - Same sound as 2C

And from here on now, here are the rest of the sound effects that are consistent enough for me:

  • 24 - Bite
  • 2E - "Sonic Boom!" (Light)
  • 2F - "Sonic Boom!" (Medium)
  • 30 - "Sonic Boom!" (Heavy)
  • 31 - Same sound as 2E
  • 32 - Same sound as 2F
  • 33 - Same sound as 30
  • 34 - "Tiger!"
  • 35 - "Tiger Uppercut!"
  • 36 - Same sound as 34
  • 37 - Same sound as 35
  • 38 - "Yoga Fire!" (Light)
  • 39 - "Yoga Fire!" (Medium)
  • 3A - "Yoga Fire!" (Heavy)
  • 3B - "Yoga Flame!" (Light)
  • 3C - "Yoga Flame!" (Medium)
  • 3D - "Yoga Flame!" (Heavy)
  • 3E - Same sound as 38
  • 3F - Same sound as 39
  • 40 - Same sound as 3A
  • 41 - Same sound as 3B
  • 42 - Same sound as 3C
  • 43 - Same sound as 3D
  • 44 - Blanka's Electric Thunder
  • 45 - Blanka roar
  • 46 - Blanka K.O. scream
  • 47 - Same sound as 44
  • 48 - Same sound as 45
  • 49 - Same sound as 46
  • 4A - "Duf Goi!" (Light)
  • 4B - "Duf Goi!" (Medium)
  • 4C - "Duf Goi!" (Heavy)
  • 4D - Same sound as 4A
  • 4E - Same sound as 4B
  • 4F - Same sound as 4C
  • 50 - "Spinning Bird Kick!" (Light)
  • 51 - "Spinning Bird Kick!" (Medium)
  • 52 - "Spinning Bird Kick!" (Heavy)
  • 53 - "Ya!"
  • 54 - "Yatta!"
  • 55 - Chun-Li laugh
  • 56 - "Hadoken!" (Light)
  • 57 - "Hadoken!" (Medium)
  • 58 - "Hadoken!" (Heavy)
  • 59 - "Shoryuken!" (Light)
  • 5A - "Shoryuken!" (Medium)
  • 5B - "Shoryuken!" (Heavy)
  • 5C - "Tatsumaki Senpukyaku!" (Light)
  • 5D - "Tatsumaki Senpukyaku!" (Medium)
  • 5E - "Tatsumaki Senpukyaku!" (Heavy)
  • 5F - Same sound as 1E

That makes 102 sound effects; three that shouldn't count, and nineteen that repeat. If we count everything but the three weird-sounding sound effects, and only count the repeating sound effects once (no repeats), that makes a "true" total of 80 sound effects. Phew.
