Hi, welcome to Street Fighter Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Rolling Attack page.
Re: Undoing Edit
You were reverting the input format to an "older" form that we were trying to work on phasing out in order to make the pages look a little better. It was an extremely minor issue, and I'm sorry if I somehow made it seem as if you were vandalizing pages; please understand, however, that if there is a case of vandalism, I make sure to call someone out on it immediately.
Your edits have been constructive for the most part, save the ones I had to undo; however, as explained above, I found those to be stylistic gaffes and nothing more, and I should've explained that from the beginning. I apologize, and I hope you keep up the good work you're doing. Lord Grammaticus (talk) 17:39, August 29, 2012 (UTC)
Re: Gen's moves Edit
YouTube videos Edit
Some of the videos on the Ultra Combo pages are from the official SSFIV site; they exist to showcase it and nothing more. For those videos, it's best to just put with voices are being used; the games allow you to choose between Japanese and English voices for each fighter. Re: Edits Edit
Re: Links Edit
Try to avoid linking to the same subject twice in the same article if you can.
Specifically, if you link to a character's article (say Guile's) within an article, there is no need to do so more than once. You can link as many articles as is necessary, but having more than one link to the same article is a tad redundant. Lord Grammaticus (talk) 22:23, September 4, 2012 (UTC)
In addition, note that some links are redirects to other articles (i.e. Armor Break). In those cases, leave the link untouched, rather than changing it to link to the article that it was redirecting to anyway. Lord Grammaticus (talk) 23:52, September 6, 2012 (UTC)
Re: Inputs Edit
Re: Apostrophes Edit
I've noticed that the unicode apostrophes you've been using recently automatically disappear when I edit a page that has them. Is there a reason you're using unicode apostrophes? Because I may be able to find a work around for that. Lord Grammaticus (talk) 23:18, November 1, 2012 (UTC)
Re: Your question Edit
Forgive the delay in answering, I've been busy working outside of the wiki as well.
It's not a matter of appropriateness; if it was I'd be coming to you about it a lot more often. As I said before, linking the whole word just looks better as opposed to leaving out the apostrophe and 's', even if it's only a marginal improvement; after all, every bit counts!
I'm sorry if it seems like I've been disrespecting you in any way. If the issue is that much of a bother, then perhaps we can try to devise a workaround, though no other solutions are really coming to me at the moment. Lord Grammaticus (talk) 20:10, November 5, 2012 (UTC)
Quite fine, despite the lack of activities here! And you? The Vile (talk) 16:59, November 30, 2013 (UTC)
- Congratulations! Welcome to the best-age club! XD The Vile (talk) 02:27, December 4, 2013 (UTC)
Mind explaining the rationale for your listing Backstep Roll as being similar to Double Knee Press, Double Rolling Sobat, and vice versa, etc.? I'm not really seeing it myself. Lord Grammaticus (talk) 20:45, January 27, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, because of the common input and the way these moves work. I think there is a total similarity between them! The Vile (talk) 01:31, January 28, 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry for the last reply regarding this. Well, you could make a case for Dee Jay's move being similar to Bison's much easier than you could for Blanka's being similar to either of them. The EX Specials and the functions of the move come to mind; the Backstep Roll covers a lot more ground than the other two relatively, and also has some use as an anti-air if I remember correctly. Its EX Special also lets you control where you land, something the other two's EX Specials lack.
- I'll leave it be for the time being pending a discussion with Awesomo or something, if that's okay with you. Lord Grammaticus (talk) 18:59, February 6, 2014 (UTC)
I've noticed you've now done the same with Vertical Roll. It appears you're grouping the moves by their input more than anything. Still, I'll have to give it a lookover when I have a chance and see which comparisons hold water, if that and the above's still ok with you. Lord Grammaticus (talk) 20:44, February 7, 2014 (UTC)
Minor thing regarding the newcomers for Ultra Street Fighter IV: remember that the four confirmed characters were essentially ported over from Street Fighter X Tekken, and their EX Special properties may remain the same - though as you can guess, that's not always the case.
All right, looks like I've committed some small mistakes while verifying EX Specials... but I'll do my best to bring the best infos on them! See ya! The Vile (talk) 16:55, February 7, 2014 (UTC)
About Armor Break Edit
That's generally what redirects are for in cases like that; they save people the trouble of having to type the exact link. It works better for smaller subjects that don't have their own article yet, which brings me to my next point: I'm starting on an Armor Break article, as I mentioned in a previous edit summary, which is why I've been undoing those edits. Lord G. matters. Talk to me. 02:58, February 16, 2014 (UTC)
Starting the Armor Break's very own article... I didn't know that! Now I feel fully explained about it! Good to know! :) The Vile (talk) 03:01, February 16, 2014 (UTC)
It's also discussed on my talk page a few messages above yours, for references' sake.
The point of this was to make it easier for readers to find and discover which moves have that property. I'll be doing the same for Super Charge as well, so both properties will have their own categories. Sorry if I've confused you any with this. :B Lord G. matters. Talk to me. 03:03, February 16, 2014 (UTC)
Kobokushi romanisation Edit
You have changed the japanese romanisation on the Kobokushi page from Kobokushi to Koboukushi. But it is NOT Koboukushi. It's Kobokushi.
I have reverted your changes.
