Vanguard (ヴァンガード Vangādo?) is Luke's second V-Trigger in Street Fighter V.

Description[]
Executed by pressing Heavy Punch and Heavy Kick simultaneously, Luke flexes as his arms exude steam, granting him the ability to use Flash Knuckle twice consecutively - though not of the same power. This also applies to Flash Knuckles modified with holding the button, and with Hard Shot.
Like his first V-Trigger, Fully Armed, the V-Timer only goes down when its effects are in use - otherwise, regular play refills the timer.
Tactics[]
As Flash Knuckle is a major component of Luke's combos, Vanguard requires practice to use to its full potential. Vanguard offers higher damage overall, but lacks the safety of Fully Armed. Knowing what conversions are possible from which strength and charge level of Flash Knuckle is important to maximize damage, particularly when combined with Hard Shot's further enhancements.
