Wong (ウォン Won?) is a fictional character from the Final Fight series, introduced in the game Final Fight 3.
Biography[]
Appearance[]
Wong is a large, muscular Chinese-American man who wears his dark brown hair in a long braid. He wears a green robe that fastens over one shoulder, metal bracers, and brown shorts and boots. His eyes are hidden behind a pair of pince-nez glasses, and he is often seen grinning and carrying prayer beads.
Story[]
Final Fight[]
Wong was a master chef and the owner of a prestigious Chinese restaurant in Metro City's Chinatown. Though his culinary expertise and business was legit in front, Wong also was Chinatown's underworld ring leader and turf boss behind closed doors. Along with smuggling food and resources for the Skull Cross Gang for extra money, and using his business to eavesdrop on rival gangs and mobs. He also distributed the weapons smuggled by Drake at the port. He attacked Haggar, Guy, Lucia, and Dean in the restaurant's kitchen, but he was defeated.
Fighting style[]
Wong normally ambles around the room, attacking enemies with punches and karate chops if they get too close. However, he also has a flying somersault similar to Blanka's, which he can perform very quickly and use to attack unsuspecting enemies from above. He remains on his back for a few seconds after performing the somersault, making it difficult to attack him until he stands up.
Trivia[]
- Wong is similar to Won Won, a Chinese-American member of the Mad Gear Gang and the boss of the first stage in Final Fight 2.
- Players will only encounter Wong if they encountered Caine in the previous stage or use the ladder in the background of the first screen of stage 5 after fighting Drake.
